The staff and board of Blue Sky Funders Forum are thrilled to kick off 2024 by welcoming a new board member, Hannah Abuzaineh (Social Impact, The North Face). Blue Sky has been lucky to work with Hannah in many capacities, including serving as a content advisor to the 2021-2022 Rethink Outside™ Fellowship and a design team member for our 2023 Annual Convening in Washington, D.C. Under Hannah’s leadership, The North Face joined Blue Sky as a member in 2023.
Hannah is a storyteller, social impact leader, and community connector focused on building and facilitating progress toward a more equitable world. Her foundation is powered by empathy in action.
This North Star inspired her journey as a writer, producer, and host for radio and television in South Korea, facilitating increased truth and human connection for audiences through documentary-style programming. It also led to her work with the team for the Emmy-nominated documentary PBS series, “Roadtrip Nation,” and the Roadtrip Nation Experience Curriculum supporting underserved communities with tools to dream and act on expanded life and career possibilities.
With a desire to advance and support large-scale societal impact, Hannah joined GOOD Corps—a social innovation consultancy powered by media companies GOOD Inc. and Upworthy— as a lead strategist. Currently, she manages social impact and The Explore Fund at The North Face. Hannah leads the strategy and implementation of the company’s $7M commitment to advance access and equity in the outdoors.
Her greatest achievement in life thus far and continued inspiration around her purpose is found in her two daughters. She is honored to hold the title of “mama” to two expressive multi-ethnic girls and treasures simple, unstructured playtime as a family.
Welcome, Hannah!
