Nature & Health Conference
April 28 , 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Blue Sky Funders Forum is excited to partner with the Nature & Health Alliance (NHA) to co-host philanthropy-centered conversations and gatherings before and at the Nature and Health Conference (April 27-29 | Houston, TX). Together with researchers, medical practitioners and students, nonprofit leaders, and funders, we will build a coalition of funders in the southeast and nationally that already recognize that the outdoors can be used as a tool for public and clinical health. We will support this coalition with networking, thought leadership, and strategic collaboration to advance this intersectional lens to other health funders new to the nature + health space.
Join us for a pre-conference webinar on March 13 to learn more!
At the Nature and Health conference in April, Blue Sky will host two events (see the full conference agenda here):
- Funder-Only Gathering (April 28): Funders will connect with peers to network and strategize around the intersection of health and nature, exploring how we can build a southern coalition of intersectional funders that prioritizes data and program evaluation. Attendees will miss only parts of the conference that are designed for researchers and medical professionals, and will receive lunch.
- Narrative Change, Mainstage Presentation (April 28): We know time outdoors is critical for physical and mental health—but how do we ensure this knowledge leads to real change in policy, funding, and practice? The answer lies in how we communicate the impact of nature on health.
This session will introduce the role of narrative change as a practical, strategic tool for advancing the nature + health movement. It’s not just about storytelling—it’s about how we collectively shape the language, data, and messages that influence decision-makers, funders, and communities. We’ll explore real-world examples, including the work of Rethink Outside, to show how a shared narrative can align efforts across sectors, break down silos, and drive lasting impact. All conference attendees are invited to join this discussion.
Who should join:
- Funders who value the intersection of the outdoors and human and environmental health
- We are prioritizing funders in the South and Southwest, but any funder is welcome to join the conference
