Nature as a Health Intervention – Webinar with Blue Sky Funders Forum and the Nature & Health Alliance
March 13, 2025 | 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm ET
Forty years ago, daily physical activity wasn’t widely seen as essential to healthy living. Today, after major shifts in public health research, advocacy, and coalition / field building, it’s almost common sense. Imagine applying that same playbook to time spent outdoors– what if, in just a few years, everyone comes to recognize that connecting with nature is fundamental to both human and environmental health, an everyday necessity? This is the opportunity and vision Blue Sky is excited to help advance and elevate the need for field building to the philanthropy space, ensuring outdoor access becomes a recognized pillar of well-being.
The Blue Sky Funders Forum is thrilled to partner with the Nature & Health Alliance (NHA) to co-host philanthropy-centered conversations and gatherings leading up to and at Nature and Health Conference (April 27-29 | Houston, TX). As public awareness grows around the critical role of time spent outdoors in physical and mental well-being, the field of nature + health research, policy, philanthropy, and practice must evolve in tandem. Funders in this space often work in silos, focusing on either health or outdoor access– missing the opportunity to bridge these areas for greater impact. Together with the NHA, Blue Sky is building a coalition of funders who recognize the outdoors as a powerful tool for both public and clinical health. Through networking, thought leadership, and strategic collaboration, we aim to strengthen this intersectional approach and bring new health funders into the nature + health space.
Funders were invited to join us on March 13 for a pre-conference webinar to learn more, connect with peers, and amplify support for nature connections as a key strategy to achieve health outcomes.
