Encore Screening & Live Panel Discussion: The Sum of Us
July 14, 2021, 10:00 am - 12:15 pm PDT
What might racial healing look like for the movement to connect children and nature?
Join the Blue Sky Funders Forum and the Children & Nature Network for this encore event where we’ll watch a recording of the phenomenal conversation between author Heather McGhee and Dr. Gail Christopher and gather for a live panel discussion, reflecting on how the connections made in the conversation will carry us forward in our work to provide equitable access to the outdoors for all.
This stirring conversation with Dr. Gail C. Christopher and daughter, author Heather McGhee reflects on the impacts of systemic racism seen in the distribution of parks, equitable access to green space, and support for outdoor learning opportunities. Two of today’s most insightful and influential thinkers offer a powerful exploration of inequality and the lesson that generations of Americans have failed to learn: Racism has a cost for everyone—not just for people of color.
Note: This presentation is a recording of the conversation that occurred on June 10. Heather McGhee and Dr. Gail Christopher will not be at this live presentation.
This encore presentation is sponsored by the Blue Sky Funders Forum and the Children & Nature Network.
