Blue Sky Member Coffee Chat: AI in Philanthropy

November 19 , 11:00 am 12:00 pm PST

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming every sector — and philanthropy is no exception.  Join your fellow Blue Sky members for this Coffee Chat to grapple with both the opportunities and risks that AI presents: from improving grantmaking efficiency and scaling social impact, to addressing ethical and environmental concerns and ensuring AI technologies serve the public good.

Jean Westrick will join us to share context about how philanthropy is approaching AI currently and what the future holds for this ubiquitous technology.  For more grounding before our Coffee Chat, consider reading Jean’s recent Nonprofit Quarterly article, How Philanthropy Can Lead in Building Ethical AI for the Public Good.

Jean Westrick is the Executive Director of the Technology Association of Grantmakers, a nonprofit organization that cultivates the strategic, equitable, and innovative use of technology in philanthropy. Westrick brings two decades of experience in community building, technology leadership, and program strategy. Previously, Westrick was at The Chicago Community Trust where she led change management efforts for the foundation’s $6 million digital transformation initiative and directed On the Table, an award-winning civic engagement initiative

Coffee Chats are open to Blue Sky Funders Forum members only. Interested in becoming a member? Contact Berkeley (berkeley@blueskyfundersforum.org).
