As the development of non-cognitive skills in students becomes increasingly important to parents, teachers, and informal educators, social and emotional learning (SEL) is emerging as a growing area of opportunity in nature-based programming. This webinar defined SEL for funders, and highlighted relevant research, best practices, and measurement tools.

    A positive and caring attitude toward the environment is a critical component of environmental literacy, and research shows that most attitudes are formed early in life. Nature-based early learning is a growing field of environmental education that has immense potential to inspire stewardship in young children, while also promoting health and well being.

Featuring local and national leaders, this convening showcased examples of organizations, partnerships, and initiatives that are strengthening networks, expanding coalitions, and advancing the field.
