Funder Webinar: The Power of Grassroots and Grasstops - State Policy Models for Connecting People and Nature

The establishment of state offices of outdoor recreation, state-level environmental education standards, and new commitments to equity in the outdoors have provided promising policy pathways for ensuring and expanding access to meaningful outdoor experiences. Recent state-level initiatives provide promising models of innovative policies championed by cross-sector coalitions.

Blue Sky hosted a webinar highlighting new, coordinated efforts to build and activate networks to advance and replicate state-level policies for connecting people and nature. Speakers representing the Outdoor Engagement Partnership presented learnings from emerging efforts to track and support state bills, define preconditions for success, and design outreach efforts to support work in states across the country.

The Outdoor Engagement Partnership is a collaboration between the Children & Nature Network, NAAEE, the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, and the Outdoors Alliance for Kids, facilitated by Meridian Institute.
