Taldi Walter

    Taldi Walter is REI’s government and community affairs manager. In this capacity she oversees REI’s national giving program and fosters collaborative partnerships with national non-profits to ensure access to and infrastructure of inspiring outdoor recreation opportunities. Prior to moving to Seattle, Taldi worked for the National Audubon Society as their assistant director of government relations in Washington, D.C. In this role, she led Audubon’s policy initiatives related to Alaska public land issues and represented the organization at the highest levels of government and Congress. During her time Audubon was instrumental in helping to safeguard 11 million acres of vital wildlife habitat in the National Petroleum Reserve Alaska. Taldi serves on the board of directors for Bike Works in south Seattle, is on the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust technical advisory committee, and serves on the Outdoor Alliance for Kids steering committee. Taldi is an avid cyclist and races for Team Group Health in Seattle. When she’s not on a bike, Taldi enjoys hiking with her Boxer Monty, stand up paddle boarding, mountaineering, and skiing.
