Ann Shulman

    Ann Shulman is the environment program director of the Lampert Byrd Foundation, where she directs the Foundation’s Environmental Stewardship Fund that supports environmental education programs and efforts to conserve wild species and spaces. She is a founder of Philanthropy Associates and has provided customized consulting, training, and facilitation services to environmental foundations and nonprofit organizations for over twenty-five years, helping to strengthen governance, strategy, decision-making, and communications. Ann is the vice chair of the West Marin Fund, on the board of directors of the Greater Good Science Center at U.C. Berkeley, an adjunct professor at the Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, and the former president of the Northern California Mediation Association. Ann has degrees from Duke University, U.C. Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law, and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. She lives in Berkeley with her husband and two sons and enjoys just about any activity outdoors—especially hiking in wilderness.
