The Nature Gap 2.0 Webinar Series Part 1: What the Data Means for Philanthropy
August 18 , 9:00 am – 10:30 am PDT
Time in nature is part of how we stay well. It steadies us and helps us heal. But that time outdoors has never been shared fairly in this country.
Nature Gap 2.0, Justice Outside’s report with the Center for American Progress and Conservation Science Partners, shows how Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and people living on low incomes have carried the heaviest cost of America’s nature loss. It maps where nature is within reach and where it is not, and how often that line follows race and income.
We did not want these findings to sit on a page. So we are coming together as a field, across a three-part series, to ask what they mean for the road ahead. This first conversation is for philanthropy. Onika Abraham Lee, Executive Director of Blue Sky Funders Forum, will guide an honest discussion with funders who are already working through these findings in their own grantmaking.
In this conversation, we will get into:
- What Nature Gap 2.0 found, and why it matters for our sector
- How funders are rethinking where their dollars go
- Where philanthropy can help close the gap in who gets to be in nature
You do not have to be a funder to find something here. If you care about who gets to be in nature, there is a place for you in this conversation. Register today to save your spot.
