Join Will Parish, of the Parish Family Fund, for a Blue Sky Member Coffee Chat on December 7 from 11 am – 12 pm PT / 2 – 3 pm ET.

The goal of this webinar is to share ideas about how philanthropy can work with unions and affiliated organizations on climate change and environmental literacy initiatives. The webinar will provide an introduction to the California Teachers Association (CTA) and its affiliated nonprofit, the Institute for Teaching (IFT), including an overview of previous philanthropic partnerships. Presenters will provide an overview of the current context of climate education in California, and share initial ideas for joint efforts to expand environmental learning in our public schools.

Will Parish has been exploring potential partnerships involving his philanthropic efforts, CTA and the IFT. Initial discussions have included how to build environmental literacy training into state-wide teacher-led professional development programs, and other teacher and student-led strategies to expand climate education in our public schools. The webinar will be an hour long, and will include a q&a section for participants following a short presentation.
